Through reflection and analysis of the robot development process and demonstration experiments with a robot designed by the authors, it was found that the completeness of the design of each element of the robot—such as its shape, color, sound, and so on—is not important; on the contrary, maintaining overall balance of those elements should take precedence. We considered that the goal of designing the robot was to avoid giving the user “discomfort.” Accordingly, to reach that goal, we confirmed the relationship through which the character of the robot is perceived by humans. %G English %Z TC 14 %2 https://inria.hal.science/hal-03686023/document %2 https://inria.hal.science/hal-03686023/file/500145_1_En_31_Chapter.pdf %L hal-03686023 %U https://inria.hal.science/hal-03686023 %~ LORIA2 %~ IFIP-LNCS %~ IFIP %~ IFIP-ICEC %~ IFIP-TC14 %~ IFIP-LNCS-12523
