In this paper we use observations drawn from an action research project to examine the implications of such approaches on ICT design and implementation strategy. We suggest that ICTs designed for sustainable agriculture need to shift their emphasis from packaging and transmitting information toward facilitating communication and sharing of practice, adopting diverse collective, social and situated forms of knowing and learning. %G English %Z TC 9 %Z WG 9.4 %2 https://inria.hal.science/hal-01650075/document %2 https://inria.hal.science/hal-01650075/file/450518_1_En_37_Chapter.pdf %L hal-01650075 %U https://inria.hal.science/hal-01650075 %~ IFIP %~ IFIP-AICT %~ IFIP-TC %~ IFIP-WG %~ IFIP-TC9 %~ IFIP-AICT-504 %~ IFIP-ICT4D %~ IFIP-WG9-4
