It involves an experiment contacted at the area of Serres, a Greek city of around 70,000 inhabitants. The findings revealed that although the number of Wi-Fi networks is quite high, their owners are unaware of their technical settings. As a result many networks remain either unlocked or with WEP encryption while many adjacent networks use the same channel thus reducing their performance. %G English %Z TC 11 %Z WG 11.2 %2 https://inria.hal.science/hal-01573314/document %2 https://inria.hal.science/hal-01573314/file/978-3-642-21040-2_28_Chapter.pdf %L hal-01573314 %U https://inria.hal.science/hal-01573314 %~ IFIP-LNCS %~ IFIP %~ IFIP-TC %~ IFIP-TC11 %~ IFIP-WISTP %~ IFIP-WG11-2 %~ IFIP-LNCS-6633
