This paper presents distributed service architecture for creating and managing the production of knowledge from distributed collections of data sources through integrated dataviews. Web Services provide key low level capability but do not define an information or data architecture. These are left to domain specific capabilities metadata and domain specific common data model. Datasets are considered to be defined with domain specific spatial and non-spatial attributes for displaying and querying.
