Evaluating the efficiency of such mechanisms and schedulers requires representative failure models that are able to capture realistic properties of real world failure data. This paper shows that failures in multi-site infrastructures are far from being randomly distributed. We propose a failure model that captures features observed in real failure traces. %G English %Z TC 6 %Z WG 6.1 %2 https://inria.hal.science/hal-01489451/document %2 https://inria.hal.science/hal-01489451/file/978-3-642-38541-4_10_Chapter.pdf %L hal-01489451 %U https://inria.hal.science/hal-01489451 %~ INSTITUT-TELECOM %~ EC-PARIS %~ UNIV-RENNES1 %~ CNRS %~ INRIA %~ UNIV-UBS %~ INSA-RENNES %~ IRISA %~ IRISA_SET %~ GRID5000 %~ IFIP-LNCS %~ IFIP %~ IFIP-TC %~ IFIP-WG %~ IFIP-TC6 %~ IFIP-WG6-1 %~ IFIP-DAIS %~ UR1-HAL %~ UR1-MATH-STIC %~ UR1-UFR-ISTIC %~ IFIP-DISCOTEC %~ IFIP-LNCS-7891 %~ TEST-UNIV-RENNES %~ TEST-UR-CSS %~ UNIV-RENNES %~ INRIA-AUT %~ INSA-GROUPE %~ INSTITUTS-TELECOM %~ SILECS %~ UR1-MATH-NUM
