In DCODE, we enhance an existing open-source columnar database engine by adding the capability for handling queries over a cluster. Specifically, we studied parallel query execution and optimization techniques such as horizontal partitioning, exchange operator allocation, query operator scheduling, operator push-down, and materialization strategies, etc. The experiments over the TPC-H dataset verified the effectiveness of our system. %G English %Z TC 5 %Z TC 8 %Z WG 8.9 %2 https://inria.hal.science/hal-01466231/document %2 https://inria.hal.science/hal-01466231/file/978-3-319-24315-3_30_Chapter.pdf %L hal-01466231 %U https://inria.hal.science/hal-01466231 %~ SHS %~ IFIP-LNCS %~ IFIP %~ IFIP-TC %~ IFIP-TC5 %~ IFIP-WG %~ IFIP-TC8 %~ IFIP-ICT-EURASIA %~ IFIP-WG8-9 %~ IFIP-LNCS-9357 %~ IFIP-CONFENIS
