ERP systems provide the benefit of sharing data between functional areas in a firm. The paper argues that there is room for expansion of these benefits by sharing data with supply chain partners. The paper investigates the role of vendors and concludes that there are interesting new possibilities. These are related to the SaaS delivery model of enterprise software. This model calls for attention of the (enterprise) software supply chain in academic research. %G English %Z TC 5 %Z WG 5.7 %2 https://inria.hal.science/hal-01387276/document %2 https://inria.hal.science/hal-01387276/file/978-3-662-44733-8_48_Chapter.pdf %L hal-01387276 %U https://inria.hal.science/hal-01387276 %~ IFIP %~ IFIP-AICT %~ IFIP-TC %~ IFIP-TC5 %~ IFIP-WG %~ IFIP-APMS %~ IFIP-WG5-7 %~ IFIP-AICT-440
