Emotive Expression through the Movement of Interactive Robotic Vehicles
Abstract
In this paper, we discuss our on going design of interactive personal vehicles that exhibit behavioral constructs expressed through motion in order to improve the user’s commuting experience. The behavioral, personality-like traits demonstrated by the interactive vehicles are intended to be useful and helpful, as well as to stretch beyond the effectiveness into affect and emotion, creating an overall more satisfying experience for the user. This shortpaper presents our design goals and approach, describes the evolution of the implementation of our personal vehicle prototypes, and outlines our current preliminary design critique evaluation findings.
